Crazy Richard’s and a Leg Workout…Posted on January 26, 2011 by Kathleen

Oh Hump Day, how nice to see you! Despite the fact that it is snowing outside and supposed to snow all evening, I was pretty excited that my breakfast was Oats in a Jar! LOVE LOVE LOVE when this happens. Yep, I love my oats!

Crazy Richard’s is my peanut butter of choice these days. I discovered them in Shop Rite a couple of months ago. I was looking at all of my choices and the ridiculous prices that companies now charge for almond butter and natural peanut butter. But I noticed Crazy Richard’s and that a normal size jar was not only under $4.00, but the ingredients also only stated: PEANUTS! I laughed out loud and immediately put it in my cart. I’ve been using them on a regular basis and make sure to check out their blog for some of my recipes and where to buy their products. THEY ARE AWESOME!

So on this snowy morning, this was my “Oats in a Jar” recipe!

Absolutely delicious, filling, nutritious!

Another Review & a PB Banana Pudding Recipe

We received another rave PB review from the Peanut Butter Boy himself!  haha!  Check it out here.

(he likes to add kosher salt to our PB!  silly boy ;-) )

AND the PB Boy recommends using our all-natural Krema PB in such scrumptious recipes as this PB Banana Pudding…

PB Banana Pudding

Ingredients:

1 cup nonfat plain greek yogurt, regular yogurt or sour cream
8 oz (~3 cups) nonfat frozen whipped topping, thawed for 30 minutes
2 cups skim milk
1/3 cup creamy unsalted peanut butter
2 small packages nonfat (sugar-free) instant vanilla pudding
30 vanilla wafers or ginger snaps
2 bananas, in 1/4″ slices
shaved dark chocolate, to garnish

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl whisk together the greek yogurt, peanut butter, whipped topping and milk until no clumps remain. Stir in the instant pudding until well incorporated and mixture begins to thicken.

2. In a large glass serving dish or trifle bowl, form a layer of vanilla wafers, flat side facing up. Cover with a thin layer of pudding, followed by a layer of banana slices. Add another thin layer of pudding and repeat. Or get creative by pudding (hah!) some wafers against the wall before adding the next layer of pudding for a nice presentation. Top with a few vanilla wafers and garnish with shaved chocolate and/or fresh berries. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

(Check out this recipe on the PB Boy’s website here.)

Krema’s featured in Cooking Light & Yahoo!

Hey Krema Fans!!  Our all-natural Krema crunchy PB was featured in Cooking Light magazine a few months ago!

(See the look of awe and excitement on my face??) IMG_0093

Well, today that same article was re-posted on the Yahoo! website homepage!
Krema was chosen as Cooking Lights’ FAVORITE natural crunchy PB!

Here’s what the article said about Krema…

BEST NATURAL CRUNCHY: Krema Natural Crunchy Peanut Butter
Price: $3.29 (16 ounces)
Testers said: The label claims no added salt, sugar, or hydrogenated oils, and we didn’t miss the sweetness or saltiness in this sample. Raters liked the hunks of peanuts, the crunch, and the real peanut flavor. The cookie sample was chewy and sweet. Serve atop toast, waffles, or pancakes drizzled with honey. Stir into ground chicken as a binder for meatballs or burgers. Use to make fudge or blond brownies.

WOW!  We are just tickled that there are so many Krema fans out there :-)   I mean, whats not to love??

Food For Thought (and an open-faced Sammy of the Week)

Two of our new Nutty Friends recently blogged about Krema PB and of course they loved our PB but they also had some interesting things to say!

Our Nutty Runner friend over at A Runners Fuel: Cooking in a Runner’s House talked about how important it is to her to be able to KNOW what each ingredient is that she puts into her body – and to actually be able to pronounce the words!  That’s one of the reasons why she loves all-natural Krema PB, because its made from just one thing : PEANUTS!!!

She suggested this open-faced Sammy of the Week made from toasted flax bread, creamy Krema PB, banana slices and rolled oats sprinkled on top as a healthy breakfast that will keep your tummy happy and full :)

Lisa is the Snack Girl who loves healthy snacks and of course loves Krema PB too!  She recently blogged about Jif PB and how they are trying to “compete with the Kremas of the world” by coming out with a ‘natural’ Jif PB.  She cautions her readers to beware of tricky advertising – just because a label may claim “Natural” does not mean that they don’t have added ingredients.  So, what should choosy moms do according to Snack Girl and Yours Truly??  Choose KREMA!!!  (even though I may be a little biased ;-) )
